Effective Directory Submission (Page Rank)

Some points to note before starting

1. Budget : How much you are willing to spend on submissions?

2. Purpose : Just increase to Page Rank or to drive traffic to your site or both? Or is it for prestige and brand awareness? Most directories wont give you decent traffic, even big and popular directories Yahoo! or Business.com or Microsoft bCentral Small Business Directory may not increase your sites traffic.

3. Planning : The most important part of your link building campaign. You need to spend a lot of time knowing which paid directory to submit to and how to submit your site to, what anchor text and meta tags and keywords to use and the niche or market you are looking for.

Direction of this Blog in the Scheme of Things September 16, 2006

In general terms .. this blog is to promote the Free-For-All Directory Listing we have created to enhance linking of sites within our HART-Empire Network and have made available to the public.

The script allows us to ping Google with the sitemap of all sites listed in our directory, and we plan to do that on a semi-regular basis.

62-151 Media Group Blog Goes Live

Our template selection is now complete .. and we have chosen the template called “REGULUS 2.1.3” by Ben Gillbanks. The link suggests version 2.1.2 but, the latest version is 2.1.3 when you download it.

What I like about this theme .. is it’s flexibility with the graphics. All you have to do is create a graphic header that is 730px by 140px in size .. and then go into a sub-menu option under your Presentations tab in your wordpress blog .. and just add the URL and select and save for use in the template. No overwriting basic logo.jpg or modifying the style.css sheet for your background image. Also, there are a few different basic mastheads that you can select that’s preset for you .. if you want it. You can have your blog name and tagline appear on the right side, or - like me - you can tick a box and disable it and just let your graphic show.
