Traffic Building With Blogs Takes Persistence November 16, 2006

There’s no doubt that you can build big traffic with a blog.
It just takes a wee bit more work than it used to.
Not long ago, you could post a picture of your cat on a Friday and get attention. Bloggers still love to link, but as any environment becomes more crowded, people become more discriminating. After all, a link is a form of personal recommendation, and it says something about both ends of the hypertext.
You may work hard on an article or resource that you’re just positive will spread like wildfire, and yet hear nothing but lonely crickets chirping upon release. Not even a measly comment.

Traffic, traffic, traffic, that’s all we hear. You’d think we were all craving two hours commutes on the Los Angeles freeway. The question is, if you’ve got traffic, what are they doing? In other words, what’s your stick-ability? When people come to your site are they met with a road side sign announcing your business and not much else or do they have a reason to stick around? If they aren’t sticking, you aren’t succeeding. And you’ve missed the major rule of online engagement. That is simply, “Information rules on the Internet.” If you ain’t got it, they ain’t staying.
So let’s say you’ve currently got yourself Post-It note traffic. The kind that arrive but leave just as quickly. Boy, the logs look great, but where are the sales? Time for some SuperGlue folks. The kind you can’t get from website bells and whistles. This only comes from content, the kind you have to create. Consider these SuperGlue techniques:
No Traffic = No Sales, Part II October 15, 2006

If you are going to be using Pop-Unders, Keyword Targeted Pop-Unders, Expired Domain Traffic, AUDIO is OK traffic, there are a few very important tips that will make using the POP method of promotion more effective. You need to be aware of the difference between HITS and GUARANTEED TRAFFIC. And, you need to be aware of the differences between RAW and UNIQUE traffic.
HITS – are usually traffic from sites users who didn’t “want” to go to your website, they just got tricked or forced to go to it. “Hits” can also be manipulated to appear like they are real visitors going to your site. Just type “traffic simulators” into Google and you will see that traffic simulators are designed to send as many unique hits to your server as it can handle. Web page requests are routed through a massive list of anonymous proxy servers. Counters and banners “see” these fake hits just as if a real user was browsing your site. When you buy “hits” you run a risk of buying fake traffic that appears 100% realistic- the only way you can tell the difference between this fake traffic and real traffic, is that with the fake hits, you see NO results!

The next problem is that most small online business owners usually have little money and not a lot of time to generate traffic and visitors to their site…. Many of them spend 6-8 hours every day just trying to generate some traffic to their site, product or service. And, at the end of each month, because nothing they seem to try ever works very well, they find themselves no better off than they were the month before. It doesn’t take them long to realize what a big waste of time doing it that way really is.
What we want to share with you today is one of the ’smartest’ ways to generate an unlimited number of visitors to almost any site. It doesn’t matter whether you are promoting a product, a service, a business opportunity or a content site. It doesn’t matter how much your product costs … It doesn’t even matter if you are promoting your own products or someone elses via an affiliate program. If you want to promote … need extra traffic or visitors … want to increase your sales and monthly income, while automating 98% of it all – then keep reading.

Build it and they will come. This holds true only for malls and brick-and-mortar businesses but not in the virtual realm of e-commerce unless you are giving away software programs and utilities for free. For your website to generate income through affiliate commissions or other online marketing techniques, it is necessary that you drive targeted traffic (visitors) to your website. The more visitors you direct towards your website, the more chances you have to generate sales.
Driving targeted traffic to your website can be accomplished in several ways, in less than one week.

Seems like everyone is coming up with outrageous stuff that acts as “link bait” these days. Building traffic depends on attracting links, but sometimes going too far can backfire.
A slow and steady (but much less risky) way to catch people’s attention online is to provide good value at no charge, without necessarily trying to make it into a media circus.
When Howard Stern gave away 500 free satellite radios to commemorate his switch to Sirius, he did (naturally) create a lot of media attention. But he also gave away something of value (a satellite radio) that was extremely relevant to his ultimate goal (recipients could now hear Howard’s new show, provided they subscribed to Sirius).
